15 Months

Evelyn had her 15 month check-up and everything went great.

Evelyn Stats:

Weight: 19 pounds 6 ounces
Height: 29 1/2 inches
Head Circumference: 17 1/2 inches

The best news we heard from the doctor today is that she we can turn her carseat around...yeah!!!!! Evelyn is still in her infant carseat due to being small. But Daniel has been wanting to buy a new carseat and turn her around...so he finally gets to do it.

Evelyn has become a little more wild lately :). She's discovering new things in the house and will look back at you to see if its ok (not like she cares what you think, because she will do it anyways). When we go anywhere, she wants to be down and walking all by herself.

Evelyn is talking more and more. We have begun teaching her the alphabet and so far she can recite A, B, C, D, E, and O. She will even try to mimic what you say sometimes.

Evelyn has also begun to color. She draws with crayons and her favorite...chalk. What a mess chalk can make :).

Evelyn still only has 6 teeth and no sign of any coming in soon.

All in all - She's a growing toddler and a joy to be around.

Yogurt

Last night during dinner, Evelyn was complaining about the yogurt being "All Gone". So we let her play with the yogurt cup. Daniel got some great shots.

Worship Weekend

This past weekend was absolutely amazing.  If you don't know, my husband plays bass guitar and loves playing worship music.  This weekend was no exception.  The Kinetic Worship band had a really cool gig called Disciple Now.  It was at a local church in Harrisburg, NC.  Usually when Daniel has gigs, I take Evelyn with me but since this was a weekend thing and I needed to help out with video, we chose to have sitters for Evelyn.

The guys played Friday night, Saturday Morning and Saturday night for the Disciple Now thing. The gig was awesome and we had a wonderful time.  Thanks to Meredith McGuirt and the McLean's for watching Evelyn so I could join my husband for the weekend.  The guys also played Sunday morning twice at Kinetic Church and then proceeded to play at Journey's youth thing Sunday night.

We took Evelyn to the Sunday night gig and had a blast.  Since we were on the Mclean's side of town, Evelyn and I had dinner with them while the guys got ready for the night.  Evelyn enjoyed eating dinner outside and drinking Matt's drink (sprite).  Back at the gig, Evelyn danced, giggled and even tried to get on the stage while the guys played.  But her favorite thing to do was stand right in front of the sub while the music was going...she really loves her music loud:)

After a fun filled weekend we all didn't want to start the week.  Daniel is at home resting today. I'm just trying to get my work done for the church without falling asleep.  Evelyn is probably napping or playing with Sammy at Gina's house (she isn't as tired...kids have amazing energy).

What a great way to get filled up....worshipping Jesus all weekend. Thanks hubby for a fun filled worship weekend.  Lets do it again soon.

Update on Evelyn

In the last week Evelyn has seen her opthamologist and neurologist.

The opthamologist said she looked great. We are to continue to patch the good eye for an hour a day. The opthamologist seems to think the Cranial Nurve Six Palsy was caused by the virus she had at the time. She did warn me that there is a chance that it could happen again. So now we just have to wait and see. Evelyn will go back for a check-up in 6 weeks.

The neurologist said she looked great too. We didn't actually get to see our usual doctor because she is on maternity leave. Going to this visit I had a lot of questions because I felt like we hadn't received all the test results back. When Evelyn had her lumbar puncture done, they also drew alot of blood to run multiple tests. Well, there seemed to be some misscommunication, because all the test had come back and everything was normal. Most of these test results just never got communicated to us but they were in her file today. The neurologist warned us just like the opthamologist did.....this could happen again. Ahhhhh......I hated to hear that.

But all is well now at the Perkins home. Evelyn is doing great and acting like a normal toddler.

I just wanted to take a quick minute to thank all the people whom helped us during this difficult time. We received so much support from Friends, Family, and our Church. The emount of prayer that was spoken over the last few months for our little girl was absolutly amazing. I truely believe those prayers were answered and helped our little girl heal. So I just ask for one more prayer....that Evelyn be truely healed, for the Cranial Nurve Six Palsy to never come back and for mommy to have peace about the situation and not worry everytime Evelyn gets sick.

Thanks You Everyone,

The Perkins Family (Daniel, Steph, Evelyn, and Rusty)

Evelyn and Grandma

A couple of weeks ago (during the great Charlotte snow) we had a full house. Daniel's parents were staying with us and my parents came to visit before heading out west. Due to the storm, my parents got to stay a few hours longer. Here is a great picture of Evelyn and Grandma (my mom) playing with the music table that Evelyn has had since she would pull up.

New Words

I just wanted to post real quick so I don't forget when Evelyn began to talk more and follow instructions. She has a few new words. So far she says Dad, Dadda, Mom, Momma, Nooooo, Blue, Three, Bee. Evelyn understands when we say no and even responds correctly sometimes. We require her to sit down when we have snacks in the living room and will sit when we tell her. She also has begun to come to you when you ask.

Igloo Tent

Last week, Evelyn took her first trip to IKEA and of course we had to buy something. So we got this igloo tent and she loves (so does the dog....he gets in it to sleep after Evelyn has gone to bed.

14 months

Evelyn was 14 months yesterday! I just can't believe it.

She's walking like crazy and most of the time she would like to be walking around instead of being held. Evelyn's beginning to talk more. She says Mom, Dad, Hi, Blue, and some other words we don't understand yet. But her favorite thing to do is to immitate her favorite movie....Finding Nemo (Boy are we tired of watching that movie but it keeps her happy).

Her newest trick is trying to dress herself. She has begun helping me get her shirts on. And last week she tried to put on her socks and shoes. Its really neat to watch her learn and try new things every day.

Evelyn....your amazing. Mommy and Daddy love you!

Take a stand and chance to win $1,000!!!
