7 months old

Evelyn Jade Perkins is 7 months old today. Wow does time fly by.

All is going well. Evelyn loves that she can sit up on her own. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the couch and bounce up and down. She's begun to roll around to get where she wants to go since she can't crawl. See just about rolled of the bed this weekend...oops. Her appetite has finally kicked in and she is drinking most of her bottle and baby food at most meals. This is a great relief for me who is always worried that she isn't getting enough food.

I don't have any stats on Evelyn since we don't go to the doctor this month. But I do have some new pictures. This week she discovered the curtains and blinds while being in her excersaucer. It's so fun to watch her do new things.

Hanging with Rusty

Over the weekend, we got some snapshots of Rusy and Evelyn hanging out. Daniel very often will put Evelyn with Rusty to test him to see what he will do. Most of the time he just licks her, as you can see in the last picture. We are trying to get him use to little things like this because it won't be long and she will be pulling on his tail and ears. He just loves his baby sister.

Playing with Jonas

Over the weekend, we got together with the Jacksons and the McLeans at the dog park. While the dogs had fun playing, so did the kids. This was the first real time that Evelyn and Jonas played together. Hopefully there will be many to come. (Just so you know, Evelyn is 6 months and Jonas is 11 months).

Cereal with Bananas

Evelyn has a favorite food....rice cereal with bananas. Here are some pictures of eating her favorite food this week.

Tummy Time

Evelyn likes her tummy!!! Just recently Evelyn has discovered that playing and sleeping on her tummy isn't so bad. This is a big deal since she hasn't done this at all. I'm sure this will lead to more mobility.....ahhhh.

Smaller Blanket

At four months we bought Evelyn an exersaucer to play in. At the time she was really small and skinny, so we put a thick blanket around her. This kept her from falling forward or backward.

Well this week we were finally able to graduate to a smaller blanket. She is still small and skinny for this toy but now she has learned to stand up better and keep her balance. Below are some pics. One day we will be able to remove the blanket.

Swimming Again

Over the 4th of July weekend we went to Uncle Robert and Aunt Sissy's house for a family pool party. Although Evelyn decided she wasn't ready for the big pool, she did like the baby pool. Here are a few pics from the pool experience. It's amazing how many pictures you take when your a parent.

First Tooth

While playing with Evelyn today, I discovered that her first tooth finally came in. Yay.....!!!!! Last week we had a couple of rough nights with her due to the pain. But today it was all worth it when I got to see her first tooth. One down, 19 more to go...ahhhhh! Hopefully the next one won't be so painful.

Happpy 4th - a little late

Yesterday was a fun day. Each year we go to the Harrisburg 4th of July celebration. This year Daniel was a judge for the battle of the bands. The bad thing about this was he had to be at the park at noon and judge from noon to 5pm. The good thing was we got a special parking pass and parked extremely close.

So we went to Chic-fil-a for lunch and dropped Daniel off at the park at noon. Evelyn and I played at home and took a nap before heading to the part around 5:30pm. When we got there they were calling for a bad thunderstorm and asked everyone to seek shelter. We hung out in the car until 8pm...ugh. But we got to eat our picnic dinner, Evelyn took a nap, and chat with Dave C.

It continued to rain until the fireworks, but we had a fun time at the Kinetic Church booth handing out goodies. The best part was my friend Allyson Hodges asked if she could hold Evelyn. I always warn people that she will probably cry when they hold her, but she said she didn't care. Boy did Evelyn like Allyson. They played together for like the next hour and a half. It was so wonderful to get a break from holding her and for her to be happy with someone else. Thank you so much Allyson! Your Amazing!

It finally stopped raining and we watched the fireworks. This was Evelyn's first fireworks show and she was just facinated by them.

6 Months!

Evelyn Jade Perkins is 6 months old. Wow, time flies by fast. Allot has happened in the pass couple of months.

Evelyn's Stats:

Hight: 25 3/4 inches

Weight: 14 pounds 7 ounces

Head Circumference: 42 1/2 centimeters

Evelyn is doing all kinds of new things lately. She can roll over from back to front and front to back. This is a big accomplishment for her since she has refused to lay on her tummy since she was born (this is due to her acid reflux). So she will even stay on her tummy for a few minutes and sometimes we even find her sleeping on ther tummy.

She is trying to sit up on her own and can do it for several seconds, but she usually falls over. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the floor with mom and play with toys or play in her excersaucer. We have a sassy jumpy seat thing that we will be introducing to Evelyn soon. Can't wait to see what she thinks about that.

Evelyn is talking up a storm and loves to squeal really loud. So far none of the talking makes any since but to her it does and I guess thats all that matters.

We will begin to adventure into new foods this week. Evelyn had some fruit last week because she was teething so bad and I was going crazy. This week we will actually try baby food...rice ceral first and then maybe some vegs. She already tries to hold the bottle, so it will be interesting to see if she wants to feed herself baby food too.

Hilton Head Pics
