Art with Daddy

Evelyn really enjoys doing arts and crafts. Daddy decided to get in the mix and make a dog with Evelyn. Yes, she is wearing snow bibs. I had ordered them from Ebay and they just came in the mail. Evelyn wanted to wear them all evening long.

Airplanes

While I was at a baby shower on Saturday, Daniel, Grandma, and Granddad took Evelyn to the Aviation Museum here in Charlotte. Looks like she had a blast.

Evelyn Conversation

So no new pics for this post, but I had to record this for future reference.

While in the car today, Evelyn and my conversation went like this:

Evelyn: "I want to go to church today, Mommy?"

Me: "Why do you want to go to church?"

Evelyn: "So I can hang out with Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus, of course."

Me: "That is awesome, Evelyn."

Thank you to all the Kinetic Kids volunteers. You are amazing and making a difference in so many children's lives.

Awareness

As a mom, one of my most important jobs is being aware of my daughter. Over the last three years, being aware of Evelyn's body and what she is doing has been so important. Mother's notice and catch things long before the doctors (i.e. Evelyn's severe acid reflux, her inability to digest lactose as a baby, or even her Cranial Nerve Six Palsy).

Because of this, I have come across lots of blogs that I love to read. One is Enjoying the Small Things. Its an amazing blog about a mother whom has a one year old daughter with down syndrome, but she didn't know until she was born. Her story is amazing. Watch this video!

Over the New Year's holiday, we went to Hilton Head to visit family. While there, we celebrated Evelyn's birthday with a costume party.
